The Paestum Foundation is a non-profit cultural association founded in 1993 to contribute to the study and redevelopment of the Paestum Archaeological Park, while also developing a cultural promotion programme focused on the ancient Mediterranean. To achieve these objectives, the Foundation organises seminars, round tables, debates, conferences - both national and international, promotes the publication of volumes that contribute to the enhancement of cultural heritage and the development of scientific research. Since 1996, the Paestum Foundation has been structured as a Centre for Comparative Studies on Colonial Movements in the Mediterranean and has entered into agreements with Italian and foreign scientific institutions. In 1999, the Region of Campania and the Ministry of Education and Culture, by Resolution No. 2228 of 18 May, 1999, in accordance with the Regional Law (49/85), recognized the Paestum Foundation as an Entity of Significant Cultural Interest.
