Among the activities of the Institute are the promotion, through archaeological and archival research of studies on the history of the culture of Greater Greece in all its aspects, from pre-colonial times to Byzantine era, both in classical and indigenous form, the organization of conferences and study meetings on issues concerning Greater Greece, the publication of original essays and research, critical editions of ancient texts, classical works no longer in print, illustrations of monuments and excavations, critical compilations and bibliographies, and in general any work that contributes to the scientific knowledge of Greater Greece, and finally the establishment of a specialized library and study center, which meet the scientific needs of the Institute.
