The 4th General Lyceum of Kalamata was one of the schools that participated during the 2017–2018 school year in the action "Adoption of Ancient Theatres", part of the educational programme of the "Diazoma" Association, in collaboration with the "Festival della Filosofia in Magna Grecia" organization. The school organised two guided tours at the archaeological site of Ancient Messene, where 16 students participating in the programme guided 1,500 Italian students. The tours were conducted in English, with some Italian translations provided by students from the Italian School of Athens, who accompanied the group. At the end of the tour, Greek and Italian students attended together the theatrical performances held at the ancient theatre of Messina, organized by the Festival. The central theme of this cycle of the programme was Friendship.
