The 2nd Junior High School of Artemida, Attica was one of the schools that participated in 2018–2019 school year in the educational initiative "Adoption of Ancient Theatres", part of the educational programme of the "Diazoma" Association, in collaboration with the "Festival della Filosofia in Magna Grecia" organization. TA group of students from the school joined the Philosophical Walk of Italian students who are members of the "Festival della Filosofia in Magna Grecia", which took place in the historic centre of Athens. At the Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus, the Greek students guided their Italian peers and performed a scene from Aristophanes “The Birds”, a play that was first staged in that very theatre in 414 BC and earned Aristophanes second prize. This performance aimed to help the students better understand and experience the original function and spirit of ancient theatre.
