The non-profit company "AMFICTYONIA EPEION GI" has acquired legal status. It was founded by by the Municipalities of Pyrgos, Ancient Olympia and Andravida - Kyllini, in collaboration the Holy Metropolis of Ilia, the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Athens, and the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.Through their twinning with three municipalities in Southern Italy, the three municipalities of Ilia, together with the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Patriarchal Foundation for Patristic Studies, and the Patriarchal Monastery of Vlatades—supported in practice by the Deputy Minister for Citizen Protection, Andreas Nikolakopoulos, and guided by the Hellenic-Italian Chamber—are seeking funding to establish Ilia as a year-round destination for religious, environmental, educational, and nature-based tourism. The initiative aims to benefit the local community and economy while highlighting the shared cultural heritage of Greece and Italy.
