The Hellenic World Initiative was established with the support of the Development Organization of the Region of Attica, “New Metropolitan Attica,” and the Regional Development Fund of Attica. It has been conceived as an independent platform that identifies, highlights, and connects organizations, institutions, and groups active in the fields of culture and the history of the Ancient Hellenic World. The initiative began with Greece and Italy and will, in subsequent phases, extend to additional countries with historical ties to Ancient Greek cultural heritage.
Ancient Greece, through its colonies, flourished across the Mediterranean and left a profound imprint on the shaping of Western civilization. Our deep appreciation for this cultural legacy has served as the driving force behind the creation of this platform, which aims to offer a dedicated space for stakeholders to engage and connect. Through this mapping, participants are given the opportunity to become acquainted with one another, exchange knowledge and experiences, highlight their work and contributions, organize joint initiatives, take part in National and European Programs, and foster collaborative relationships that highlight and preserve the cultural heritage of the Ancient Hellenic World.
The identification of stakeholders and the opportunity of their inclusion on the platform is based exclusively on publicly available online sources. It covers all institutions and groups that could be identified, without exclusions, but also without any responsibility being assumed for their activities. The platform is purely documentary in nature and seeks to raise awareness of these initiatives among the wider public in Greece, Italy, and, in the future, in other countries with shared historical and cultural roots.
The presentation and inclusion of participating entities shall be subject solely to their explicit consent, and they shall retain the right to edit, modify, deactivate or delete their account from the platform at any time. Any collaboration in the cultural, tourism, or economic sphere is the sole responsibility of the participating entities involved. The platform does not intervene, exercises no supervisory role, and cannot guarantee their credibility or reliability. In addition, the platform does not seek financial or advertising benefits and is not operated for profit. We hope that this initiative will serve as an opportunity for all participating entities and stakeholders to connect with one another, to organize and implement initiatives to achieve greater visibility, promote the shared culture of the Ancient Hellenic World, and uphold the values of our cultural heritage and solidarity. Through the exchange of initiatives and experiences, a strong intellectual and cultural bond can be fostered.
Our shared historical roots can serve as a unifying bond, a bridge connecting past, present, and future, creating a solid foundation for the development of cross-national collaborations that strengthen culture and foster social development. In this spirit, the “Hellenic World” Initiative aspires to make its own contribution to the effort of highlighting our heritage and to encourage new connections and partnerships that affirm what unites us.
